Bradco teams up with industry leaders for the epOxyGreen Pavillion at the Dwell on Design Trade Show

Bradco Kitchens and Baths supplies custom built cabinets and vanities that adhere to the principles of eco-design for the epOxyGreen Pavillion at the Dwell on Design Trade Show

Los Angeles, CA (June 26, 2009) –  Bradco Kitchens and Baths is pleased to announce that they are the green suppliers for the kitchen and bathroom cabinetry for the epOxyGreen Pavillion at the Dwell on Design trade show.
Green building design should always incorporate the basic principles of eco-design:

  1. Use Environmentally Conscience Products – Use materials that minimize life-cycle environmental impacts such as global warming, resource depletion, and human toxicity
  2. Optimize Energy Use – Products and designs should require less energy
  3. Enhance Indoor Air Quality – Avoid the use of toxic materials and volatile organic compounds (VOC) such as formaldehyde
  4. Protect & Conserve Water – Fresh water is an increasingly scarce resource
  5. Enhance Operational and Maintenance Practices – Products should be high quality, durable and better functioning

Truly Green Cabinets

All of the cabinet frames were constructed with formaldehyde-free and FSC certified PureBond® plywood from Columbia Forest Products.  The cabinet doors were made from formaldehyde-free MDF and to limit the environmental impact, reconstituted veneers were selected.  The warmth and exotic look of the Macassar Ebony veneers enhanced the design without compromising sustainability and were applied with formaldehyde-free adhesives.

The 100% aluminum hardware from Häfele was selected because once the hardware is no longer needed, they can be put into the recycle bin to be used again.  Additionally, Bradco used soft-close hardware from Blum that silently and effortlessly prevents finger slams and excessive wear and tear on the cabinets.  The easy opening features of the award winning Servo-Drive from Blum enhances user convenience and experience.
