Los Angeles, CA (April 20, 2008) – Bradco Kitchens & Baths and Eli’s Tiles, a subdivision of Bradco Kitchens & Baths is proud to announce their participation in the 2008 Pasadena Showcase House of Design in collaboration with Antoinette Loupe of Antoinette Loupe Interiors. Running from April 20 – May 18, 2008, the Pasadena Showcase House of Design is one of the oldest, largest and most successful house and garden tours in the nation.
The design by Antoinette Loupe incorporates Spanish and Moroccan influences keeping in tradition of the original intention of the home. George Hanson (1872-1959) was commissioned to replicate a Spanish castle with Moorish design. “The space is a challenge, but it was my first choice. And besides, it’s for a good cause” said Antoinette Loupe. All the proceeds from the Pasadena Showcase House of Design fund three annual music programs as well as awards gifts and grants to other non-profit organizations that provide musically oriented programs such as music therapy and education.
The process began as a collaboration and exchange of ideas and design requirements between Antoinette Loupé Interiors and Eli’s Tiles. Computer simulation drafts were created in order to test compositions, patterns and colors. The result is a fine example of the possibilities that hand crafted tiles hold: no limitations of shape, size or color – possibilities as wide as the imagination.
The wall mounted sink was designed and cut to follow the exact shape of the walls and was hand made by Eli’s Tiles. It was then glazed to match the Spanish Moroccan antique pewter hand made tiles that surround it. Blue copper glass tile inserts were used as decorations following the pattern of the Spanish Moroccan hand made tiles.
Spanish Moroccan antique pewter tiles cover the entire walls of the open shower. The back wall ornament was hand crafted by Eli’s Tiles to add an additional authentic design element. Brown copper glass tile inserts were used to accent the multiple design elements.
Eli’s Tiles customized a standard white toilet to fit the style and color scheme of the bathroom. The toilet was mosaiced using the same blue copper glass tiles that are on the sink as well as custom antique pewter tiles as trims to assure flawless continuity throughout the space.
